Work Based Learning
We are pleased to introduce you to our new Work Based Learning Team. Run under the expert leadership of Mr Leaver, Assistant Headteacher, the team comprises of two Work Based Learning Officers Mrs Hemp and Mrs Lawn whose role encompasses Careers Education, Information Advice and Guidance, Work Experience and Mentoring.
The WBL team will be working with all year groups throughout the curriculum but currently their focus is on Year 10 and Year 11 students. Mrs Hemp said “We are providing one-to-one careers interviews with all Year 11 students between now and Christmas to ensure that they have as much help and support as possible, to make a successful application to College or to gain an Apprenticeship.
We have also just started to organise and co-ordinate the Work Experience Placements for June for all our Year 10 students. Work Based Learning officers will be available at next week’s Year 10 Parents’ Evening for anyone who would like to come and find out more.
We are looking forward to working with all the students in the school and their parents/carers. A new Work Based
Learning Hub has also been created in school, where Students can access computers, use resources, see prospectuses or just pop in for advice. The Hub is open daily from 8.00am to 4.00pm and can also be accessed at both break and lunch time.
